Following a long hiatus away from making music (Chapel Hill’s Tinsel, NYC’s The Last Band USA) to focus on making money and babies, Rob is back with his first solo record and most inspired, realized work, the forthcoming Phased Out on the Magic Door Record Label. Phased Out is an indie rock adult contemporary album, in that it is written by an adult with indie rock origins and made with his talented contemporaries, like Joe Ventura, Daniel London, Scott Anthony, Megan Reilly, Pete Gallagher, Chuck Johnson and Ray Ketchem. Also chiming in are Maple and George Munk, the aforementioned babies that have now matured enough to make cool sounds all their own. Rob Munk’s songs mine the last bit of humanity from a rotting planet, offering glimmering indie-rock hope for those still on the hunt.
Phased Out was tracked and mastered, at Magic Door Studios in Montclair, NJ by Ray Ketchem, and mixed at Cirrus Oxide in Oakland at by Chuck Johnson, with additional mixing by Ray at Magic Door.
The Ghosts of San Francisco (B/side Liver Alarm) is the first digital single from the album, and is now available through Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music and wherever else people generally find digital music.
